19 Weeks

The Little Bug was 19 weeks yesterday, and I didn't get a chance to put up any pictures. I haven't posted in over a week because I've been SWAMPED. I love being busy, but at the same time I start to feel all the little beautiful moments slipping through the cracks because I get so focused on getting work done. I stopped and pulled out my camera yesterday (or was it the day before?!) to take a few videos of the kid. It takes forever to upload them, so I'll just leave you with this little nugget for now...

Anthony is 4 months

Alright, I've stalled long enough. Anthony has been 4 months for 4 days now so I'd better get this posted before another month passes! Hopefully we can do a more official photo shoot next month, but this time I decided to use some of the snapshots we took in Houston over the weekend as my extended family met my baby for the first time. I'm glad for all the aunts, uncles and grandparents that came out!

Dear Anthony,

4 days ago you turned 4 months. You're such a big boy. At your 4-month check up yesterday we learned that you are 25 inches long and 13 pounds now. You did much better with your shots this time than at your 2-month check-up. I still couldn't watch, and Daddy stayed in the room while I swooped in at the end to hold your hand all the way home.

You have rolled over 4 times in the last few weeks from your stomach to your back, but you don't seem that interested in it. But anytime you're on your back too long, you do arch and try to turn over...I'm sure you'll get it soon. You are teething up a storm, though nothing seems to be breaking through yet. You're just our little "slobber monster" or "drool monkey".

You like our walks now, and you will go for an hour if I want to, but I try to get you home sooner so we can play. You tend to be awake for about an hour and a half with me, sometimes two plus hours at a time, and then you sleep for 30 minutes. This repeats almost the entire day, but when you're with daddy you'd rather sleep than play so you don't make it as long. You are definitely capable of sleeping through the night, but you don't usually do it anymore. You like to wake up and have a little snuggle on most nights.

You don't have much of an interest in sitting up. You let me put you in the bumbo or prop you up for a couple minutes, but usually you'd prefer to stand with my assistance. We've also been putting you in the exersaucer now that your feet can touch most of the time. Today you particularly enjoyed it, and you laughed so hard that we were both cracking up for about 10 minutes straight. You are the cutest thing!

I can see how much you grow and change all the time, and while I want so badly to help you achieve your next developmental milestones, I also want to hang on to your baby-ness forever.

I love you so much.

Mommy

Stalling and Melissa and Joey

I'm totally stalling for time here. I would LOVE to put up a post about how my big boy is turning 4 months today, but I am on a seriously tight schedule to get a million things done in the next 2 1/2 hours. I'm just putting up one picture of my big guy, and then I've gotta get back to work. A real 4 month post will be coming in a few days.

And I posted some photos on the WLP site that I forgot to talk about over here so go check out Melissa and Joey on our Whitney Lee Photography blog!

These two were super fun, and the bonus is that Melissa works for Rackspace. You know the Rackers are gonna have fun! I can't wait for their wedding on May 1st!

I so want a pair of cowboy boots now.

17 Weeks and other stuff

Today, my little bug is 17 weeks. Today, I had dinner with my friend Allison. Today, I felt how much I'm really not looking forward to the first car trip to Houston with a baby. OY!

Let's focus on the good things. I've been very productive, although it doesn't seem like my to-do list has shrunk at all. In fact, I think my to-do list is a hydra. Wait, focus, focus, say good things. Ok, dinner with Allison was great! It was nice to catch up, and it's always nice when a mom sees someone play with her baby and think he's cute :)

I didn't take any pictures of the kid today like I normally try to do for the weeks. Heck, I didn't even get the 16-week ones up, I just put up Easter photos instead. Since I'm behind, I decided to put up some pictures of Anthony in a onesie that his Granny bought him. It says 12 months for the size, but after one wash I had to stretch it with all my might just to get it on Anthony, and this was 2 weeks ago. This was his only time to wear it, so here it goes!

This outfit makes him look so fat! Rolls are hanging out, the diaper is hanging out, and not all of his body is covered like it normally would be with a onesie...a little michelin man in the making.

Easter

So so many things have been going on lately, I don't even know where to start. Most of it is working, which takes up tons of time but makes me really happy so there's that :) And when I say working, I mostly mean editing because more time is spent on that than the shooting. But, silver lining, I have gotten to shoot 2 weddings with Whitney so far this season! Or rather, she shot with me, however you want to say it. I like having her at my weddings, and I ALWAYS learn something new...which rocks my world. And we set up a photo booth with her gear, and I LOVED IT. The guests were totally into it, and it was a blast! Can't wait to do it again!

I'm (obviously) behind on blogging and posting photos. I have some 16-week photos that need to be put up, but I know my mom has been looking forward to the Easter photos so I'll start with those. We didn't do anything fancy, and he didn't even wear a special "Easter outfit" for the hunt at our house. But he was still ADORABLE and it was marvelous and special.

(I just have to add here that I'm writing this while he is napping, but I just heard him wake up with the hiccups. His hiccups are freakin cute.)

On to the Easter pics!

This is the basket that I made for my little bug. The basket itself is one my mom usually makes for me, but I used it for the babe this year since I didn't need a basket (I'm not the baby anymore!). I knew my dad was doing a traditional bakset, so I filled mine with toys, a teether, and pacifiers that I've been looking for an excuse to buy anyway :)

This is the basket my dad made. He even dyed the eggs himself! That is amazing. My mom and I used to dye eggs every year together, it was our thing. But my dad never joined in on the fun. Now he's home dyeing eggs all by himself! I love what grandkids do to people.

15 Weeks and a Big Accomplishment

Yesterday my little boy was 15 weeks! We're still kind of in a funk with what to call him. He seems like an Anthony, but it's hard for most people to distinguish father and son in conversation so I finally tried calling him AJ (for the first time since he was born). It doesn't roll off the tongue easily for me, but I'm giving it a conscious effort to see if I think it's as cute as I did when I was pregnant.

Anywho, my big 15-week old hit a milestone yesterday...he ROLLED OVER. That's right, he rolled. Twice. I called Anthony to share the good news and then ran to get my camera to see if I could record this achievement. Nothing. I have recorded him so many times yesterday and today, but he refuses to repeat the rolling. I kinda thought he'd do it as soon as I put the camera down, but no. He just isn't ready to do it again yet.

I feel like he must get bored with his view laying down so I'm really encouraging him to sit in the Bumbo chair more and more. We sit him up, prop him up, "stand" him up, etc., but I feel like the chair will be a big step for him so we try try again! You'll see in the photos below that he's decent at it, but he ends up getting frustrated because he still doesn't have a completely stable neck.

We've been buuuuuusy lately. I'm swamped with editing, we've had a million birthdays and baby showers, and now the house is in shambles! Not much I can do about that now; I need to keep editing and prepare for Easter this weekend. Bring on the holidays!

I'd also like to give a big thank you to my cousin Samantha for cooking dinner while I was at a wedding meeting last night. I enjoyed having her over and hope she visits again soon (well she kinda has to because she forgot her sunglasses), but I know she won't know that via this blog because she said she doesn't really use the internet that much. WHAAAAAT?!?! That's right folks, we have a lunatic on our hands.
