The Son and I went to Houston last weekend. I was excited to see all of my family, but I most especially made the trip for my Nanny because she's unable to travel here due to health. Think you're going to see a picture of the baby with Nanny? Nope. She doesn't like to have her picture taken. But here's some other stuff from our sick stay in Houston.
While we were there, we picked up his owl blanket, finally! I'll have to post some pictures soon (after I actually take them). It's super cute, just the way I designed it, and Aunt Sheryle even used different buttons for all the different owls' eyes! I love texture and variation! We also got a super cute set of cars from Aunt Brenda. I think Big Anthony and I have had a better time with them than little Anthony! But he's enjoying them too. We've been revving them up and making them zip all over the living room floor. Glad to be back home!
And now...the pumpkin patch! I was thrilled to take him here and glad his mood has definitely perked up during the day (though he still coughs a ton at night). Before I had a child, I would think about all the fun stuff I would do with him/her. And now that I have one, I'm determined to do all these things I imagined, even if I'm up to my ears in work, trying to show a house, trying to build a house, utterly exhausted, and in desperate need of a hair cut! If my little man were older I might have ventured out to Marble Falls and hit up Sweet Berry Farm, but given his young and sicky status I thought it would be best to stick to Austin. Thanks to Jenny (woo!) for telling us about this centrally located patch!
This next photo completely encompasses what I wanted from this day. *sigh*
Realizing there's another baby very close by...
Awww...my sweet boy :) It's your first fall, Son!
This is off topic, but our power went out for about an hour and a half this evening. We hated it, and we didn't know what to do without electricity. I heard things I've never noticed before. Like, apparently, we live near some scary sounding coyotes or wolves or something that howls!! We are also neighbors with an owl or two. We own more candles than I thought we did. I'm glad the power is back on!
